"A lot of work has been necessary in order to achieve the best sound possible. I've spend a lot of time in editing, using tricks and tips to enhance the basic recording that was sounding too flat compare with the real instrument. You will notice that there are much more harmonics in the sound than in other pianos. When you play one note, it may be noticeable, but when you play a classic piece, you are closer to the real sound. Because most harmonics are only present when several notes are played together, I've tried to add these into the basic notes, so the overall sound will be larger when played live. Also I've recorded differently the basses (that have a natural sustain) and the highest notes (that needed to have more sustain). I've used compressors, gates, custom programming, my own customized reverbs (see www.dadev.com) to add or remove individually the sustain, and to re-create the texture I wanted for this piano and the feeling and fun to play the real instrument. The result is a piano that has a huge sound, perfect unnoticeable 4 layers of velocity. With this piano you are not limited to a single style. It has The Sound without any effects or artifacts. Just plug and say Wow!"

Why this piano? This piano is unique. Restored and tuned by Mr. Champagne himself. Its sounds  closed to what I call "the perfection" for a piano, great expressivity, warm and deep in the basses, very punchy and like crystal in the highest parts, beautifully colored. This piano has a typical warm, coming from the rich wood and is very suitable for Jazz, classical, or anything else.

Some History :

This September 2003 I've decided to purchase an upright hi-quality piano for my own use. I've found a great shop, owned by Mr. Champagne, named "Les Maîtres du Piano" : one of the most famous French shop specialized in restoring and selling pianos.

An impressive stock of more than 100 pianos was there with some amazing pieces like an old 1870' restored Gaveau, the latest Kawaï, Steinway and the marvelous Pleyel grand model 190.

We decided to team up in order to capture the unique spirit of one of the most expressive and warm piano on earth : the Pleyel P190.

The result is so close to the real piano that Mr. Champagne was crazy!

* Note : compression divides the original size by a factor of 2. We use Winrar 3. If you purchase a 100mb bank from our website, you'll have to download 50 mb.

Note : all our products are created with Gigastudio and converted to the following formats : Kontakt, Halion, Reaktor, Exs24, Soundfont. Drums are converted to the previous format plus Battery. Because of the technical limitations on some samplers some soundbanks may not work exactly the same as the original .GIG format.
